Ab's Cooking Journey...Part 13...~Crystal Mooncake~...Trial

Two weeks later will be the "Moon-cake Festival"..Hehe!!

I have planned to make moon-cake for him..Hehe!! But I do not know how to make the traditional moon-cake..
So how am I going to do?? Hehe!! I planned to make Crystal Moon-cake aka Agar-Agar Moon-cake..I searched some info from internet..There is quite complicated for the making steps..Hehe!! However, I would like to have a try..Hehe!!

Mum and I had a try few days ago..But we are failed..This time I would try by myself..Hehe!! Firstly, I boiled water..Then I poured agar-agar powder and sugar..When it is boiled, I turned the fire into small heat..At the same time, I started to make the fillings..I made Milo flavor and Coffee flavor for the fillings..After the fillings are fully become jelly, I took it out from the mould to ready-use.

Next I made the top pastry..I poured some agar-agar into mould (about 1/3) and wait for it to freeze at the first layer ..This step is quite important because if the top pastry is fully become jelly, the bottom pastry will unable to "paste" with the top skin..As the result, there will be 3 different layers of moon-cake..After that, I filled the mould with agar-agar and wait for it to freeze..When it is fully become jelly, I put into fridge for ready-eat..Hehe!!

My homemade Crystal Moon-Cakes look yummy but lack of sugar taste..Hehe!! Anyway, it is my trial..I will make it better in the next..I am quite satisfied with my result..Hehe!!

Ab's Cooking Journey...Part 12...~First Time In Kitchen~

Almost one month did not update here..Hehe!!

Anyway, I am back!! Hehe!!
My First Time In Kitchen..Really exciting, full of funnies and scares..Haha!!

Before cook, I have prepared all the ingredients the night before. For the drumsticks, it is quite hard for me to touch when it is raw. Hehe!! I felt quite geli..However, I marinated the drumsticks in soy sauce for overnight.

Firstly, I cooked vegetables. I did not know how to control the heat so the wok is overheated. Once I put the garlic, they are burnt. I was quite panic and called mum immediately. I heard SOMEONE is laughing nonstop at the same time. Meanwhile, I put the drumsticks into oven. It is quite easy to make it. Hehe!! Then, I cooked the egg with prawn.

Finally, 3 dishes and rice are prepared within one hour. Hehe!! Luckily I did not make him to wait for so long. Hehe!! For my own opinion, all dishes are able to put into mouth. Hehe!! They are well done. Hehe!!

Cooking in kitchen is quite difficult for me. I do not know many skills. Anyway, I will learn it hardly before promotion. Hehe!! Will you be my white mouse? Hehe!!

Ab's Cooking Journey...Part 11...~Marble Cheese Cake~

It is long time I did not drop anything here..Hehe!! Paiseh!!

What I have tried this time for my cooking journey? Hehe..
~~Deng Deng Deng Deng~~Marble Cheese Cake

I have tried to make this but failed because I have put the quantity of gelatin wrongly..It is supposed 1 tablespoon but I misread it as 1 teaspoon..Hehe..This time should be better because I have a lesson learn..Hehe..This cheese cake is unbaked cheese cake so it is quite easy to make..Just need to careful about the ingredients..

I did not take pictures for the ingredients and steps because I forgot..Hehe!! Paiseh!! Anyway, I took the final pictures..

Jimmy commented it is tasty..Hehe!! Yeah..Finally successful!! Of course my mum would not miss the chance to show off..Haha!! The last 3 pieces finished by mum's friends..Hehe!! Jimmy gave some to his friends too and received good comments..Hehe!!

Ab's Cooking Journey...Part 10...~Brownies~

Brownies...First time heard about it...So fish!! Hehe!!

I have tried my friend's homemade Brownies..It is tasty and I decided to make it my own..I got the recipe from internet..It is dangerous because some recipes from internet are not so accurate..Anyway, I still want to try..Hehe!!

The method is quite easy..First baked is failed because the baking time is not enough..I baked it 25 minutes at 170 degree Celsius but it is still in liquid form..Then I re-baked it another 15 minutes..As a result, it became hangus..For another two boxes, I baked for 35 minutes at 150 degree Celsius..Their outlook came out are nice..Hehe!!

My homemade Brownies is more likely as cake instead of Brownies (Jimmy's comment)..Hehe!! Anyway, he commented it is tasty also..Haha!! He commented also try to put hazelnut instead of walnut in next time because walnut is quite oily compared to hazelnut..Hehe!!

Thanks for trying my homemade Brownies and your opinion ah!!

Ab's Cooking Journey...Part 9...~Coconut Tart~

This time I want to make Coconut Tart...The method is divided into two portions...First is sweet pastry and second is fillings...

To make the fillings, it is required coconut milk and desiccated coconut..So I went to a supermarket to look for them..Frankly, this is my first time to buy coconut milk and desiccated coconut..I totally have no idea how many should I buy..The girl told me that I can make coconut milk by myself..So I ordered two coconuts in different bags..RM1.20 per coconut..I think it is cheap and reasonable..Hehe!!

After that, I went to cake shop to look for tart mould..I bought 10 pieces..RM7.50..My mum said that I am abit "sTu**d"..Be water fish..RM7.50 is very expensive..Haiz, those mould can be used for many times..Mummy, just forget about the price la..Hehe!!

After reached home, I started to prepare the sweet pastry..The step to press the sweet pastry onto the tart mould is quite difficult for me..When I pressed at the side, the sweet pastry at the bottom will become lesser and lesser..I need to add abit onto the bottom..As a result, it was not balance..The outlook not nice too..

Then I started to prepare the fillings..It is required 60g of desiccated coconut..After I measured, I only realised that I have bought too much..60g is only 0.5% of what I have bought..I am worried because my mum must scold me after she know about this..Anyway, what to do?? I cannot just throw it away..It is waste if I do so..So I just kept it into fridge and explained to mum later..

After prepared the fillings, I poured it over the sweet pastry and baked it..Finally, my homemade coconut tart is done..The outlook is quite nice and the taste is okie..Hehe!! Quite satisfied..

But, I felt that it is quite complicated to make coconut tart..especially the sweet pastry..Some more, get scolded by mum 2 times..Haiz!! Quite down..Besides, there is ONLY one person who dared to try my homemade coconut tart..More down..

Anyway, Jimmy, thanks for trying my coconut tart!!
